You Bought A Harness. Now How Do You Mount It?

You got yourself a nice set of 4-point harnesses. Good. Factory seatbelts are junk. But now you got a problem. Where do the shoulder straps bolt to? The stock Maverick cage does not have mounting tabs. The floor is too far down. You cannot just drill random holes in your roll cage. That weakens it.This is the DragonFire Racing Harness Mounting Kit. Part #521338. Quick release style.It bolts directly to your 2013 and newer Can-Am Maverick. No cutting. No welding. No drilling holes in your cage. It uses existing mounting points. Your harness shoulder straps clip into this kit with quick release tabs. Easy in. Easy out.

Why Quick Release?

Because sometimes you want your harness. Sometimes you do not. Quick release means you can pop the shoulder straps off in two seconds. Leave the mounting kit on the cage. Take the harness with you. Or swap harnesses between seats. Or just make it easier to clean the interior.

What Is Wrong With The Stock Setup?

Nothing is wrong with the cage. The problem is Can-Am did not put harness tabs on the cage. They expect you to use the factory seatbelts. But factory seatbelts stretch. They let you slide around. They are not safe for aggressive driving. This kit adds the mounting points Can-Am forgot.

FAQ

 Does this kit come with the harness?
 No. This is just the mounting kit. You need to buy the harness separately. This kit mounts the shoulder straps. You still need lap belts and a submarine strap (if using 5-point).
What harness works with this?
 Any 4-point or 5-point harness with quick release shoulder tabs. DragonFire makes matching harnesses. So do many other brands. The quick release tabs are standard size.
 Do I need one kit per seat?
 Yes. Driver needs one kit. Passenger needs one kit. Rear seats? One kit each. This listing is for a single mounting kit.
 How hard is the install?
 You need basic hand tools. Socket set. Wrenches. Remove the plastic trim behind the seats. Bolt the brackets to the factory cage mounts. Reinstall trim. Clip in harnesses. Maybe two hours if you are slow.
 Will this fit my 2020 Maverick X3?
 The fitment chart goes up to 2019. But the chassis did not change much from 2017 to 2022. It will probably fit. Check with DragonFire or measure your cage first.
 Is this stronger than welding tabs to my cage?
 Yes and no. Welded tabs are permanent. This bolts to existing mounts. Both are strong enough. This is easier to install. This also does not void any warranties because you are not modifying the cage.
 Can I use this with stock seatbelts?
 No. This is for aftermarket racing harnesses only. Remove the factory shoulder belts or leave them in place. This kit does not interfere with factory belts.
What is the difference between this and the "Harness Anchor Kit" you sell?
 The Harness Anchor Kit (part #521708) is for universal 1.75 inch roll cages. It clamps onto the tube. This kit is specifically for Can-Am Maverick. It bolts to factory mounting points. Get this one for your Maverick. Get the universal one for custom cages.
Is this street legal?
Off-road use only. Not DOT approved. Most states do not allow racing harnesses on street-driven UTVs. Check your local laws. For trail riding and desert, it is perfect.
 Why quick release instead of bolt-in?
 Quick release lets you remove the harness easily. Bolt-in means you need tools to take it out. Quick release is convenient if you swap drivers, clean the car, or use harnesses only for certain rides.
Will this fit my 2015 Maverick 1000?
The fitment chart focuses on X3 models. For older Maverick 1000 (pre-2017), check your cage. If you have a cross bar behind the seats with mounting holes, it might work. If you have a different design, look for a Maverick 1000 specific kit.
 What color is this kit?
Black. DragonFire uses black powder coating on most of their mounting hardware. It blends in. Does not stand out.
