The Dynatek Dyna S Ignition System replaces your stock ignition points with a self-contained electronic unit, giving carbureted Harley-Davidson models from 1970-2003 a cleaner, more consistent spark without the maintenance headaches of a points-based system.This Dual Fire version fires both cylinders simultaneously and mounts completely behind your factory ignition cover, so there's no bulky external box to find a home for. It uses a magnetic rotor paired with your original spark advancer, which means your bike keeps its factory advance curve — no retuning or guesswork required.

Why riders upgrade to Dyna S:

  • Eliminates points and condensers, along with the wear, pitting, and constant gap adjustments that come with them
  • Hall Effect magnetic sensors stay accurate regardless of RPM, dirt, or oil exposure — points can't compete with that kind of consistency

Fitment note: This ignition system is designed for 1970-2003 carbureted Harley-Davidson Big Twin and Sportster models with points-style ignition. It requires an aftermarket 5-ohm coil or a stock points coil from early Shovelheads — it is not recommended for use with OEM coils. Certain later-model fitments (1984-1999 Big Twins, 1986-2003 XL models) also require a separate mechanical advance unit, sold separately.
