BikeMaster 7in Headlight Side Mount - Black (Part #152455)
You Got The Headlight. Now How Do You Mount It?
Building a custom bike is fun. Until you get to the little stuff. Like the headlight. You bought a nice 7-inch headlight bucket. It looks great sitting on your workbench. But how does it attach to your forks? The stock mounts are ugly. Or maybe you do not have stock forks at all. This is the BikeMaster 7in Headlight Side Mount. Part #152455. Black finish. It is a simple bracket. It clamps onto your fork tube. Then it bolts to the side of your headlight bucket. One on each side. Done. No welding. No fabrication. Just bolt it on and ride.
Why Side Mounts?
Because bottom mounts look like crap. You know the ones. The headlight sits way down low between the fork legs. It looks like an afterthought. Side mounts raise the headlight up. It sits level with the top of the tire. It looks like a real motorcycle should.
Who Needs This?
Anyone building:
A bobber
A cafe racer
A flat track bike
A chopped cruiser
A dirt tracker
Any custom bike with a 7-inch headlight
If you have aftermarket forks, or you shaved off the stock headlight ears, or you are building from a bare frame, you need these.
Features & Benefits
Clamps Onto Fork Tube: No drilling. No welding. Just clamp it down.
Fits 7 Inch Headlight Buckets: Standard size. Most aftermarket headlights use this.
Black Finish: Blends in. Does not stand out like chrome.
Steel Construction: Strong. Will not crack or bend from vibration.
Simple Design: Two bolts. That is it. Less stuff to break.
What Size Forks Does It Fit?
This is the most important question. The clamp is designed to fit standard sized fork tubes. Most Japanese bikes use 39mm, 41mm, or 43mm forks. This mount works on those. You need to measure your fork tube diameter before buying. Use a caliper. Wrap a tape measure around the tube and do the math. If your forks are 49mm or 50mm (like some big Harleys or customs), this might be too small. If you have 33mm forks (old dirt bikes), this might be too big.
What Is In The Box?
One side mount bracket. You need two of these to mount a headlight (one for the left fork, one for the right). This listing is for a single mount. Buy two.
Vehicle Fitment
This fits any motorcycle with:
7 inch aftermarket headlight bucket
Standard diameter fork tubes (roughly 39mm to 43mm range)
It does not fit:
Stock Harley headlight buckets (those use different mounting ears)
5.75 inch headlights (too small)
Inverted forks with huge 50mm+ lower tubes (clamp too small)
FAQ
Do I need one or two of these?
Two. One for the left fork leg. One for the right. This listing is for a single mount. Add two to your cart.
What size headlight does this fit?
7 inches. That is the standard size for most aftermarket headlight buckets. Measure your headlight. If it is 7 inches across the front, this will bolt up.
Will this fit my Harley Dyna with stock forks?
Maybe. Stock Harley forks are usually 49mm. Measure first. This mount is designed for smaller Japanese-sized forks (39-43mm). It might be too tight for a Harley. Do not force it.
Is this strong enough to hold a heavy glass headlight?
Yes. It is steel. But use both bolts and tighten them properly. A heavy headlight bouncing down a rough road puts a lot of stress on the bracket. Check the bolts every few rides.
How do I install this?
Slide the clamp over your fork tube. Position it at the height you want the headlight. Tighten the clamp bolts. Then bolt your headlight bucket to the tab on the side. Repeat on the other fork. Adjust the aim. Go ride.
Can I use this with a headlight fairing or visor?
Yes. The headlight bolts to the mount. Your fairing bolts to the headlight or the mounts. It might take some fiddling, but it works.
Why is this better than the cheap eBay brackets?
Because cheap eBay brackets are made of pot metal. They crack when you hit a pothole. Your headlight falls off. You crash. BikeMaster uses real steel. It costs a few dollars more. It is worth it.
