BikeMaster 55-Gallon Drum Pump (Part #152404)

You Buy Oil By The Drum. Now Get It Out Without Making A Mess.

If you run a shop, a garage, or even just change oil on a fleet of bikes and UTVs, you know the deal. Buying oil by the 55-gallon drum saves money. A lot of money. But getting that oil out? Tilting a 400-pound drum? Using a cheap hand pump that leaks everywhere? It is a mess. You lose oil. You slip on the floor. It sucks. This is the BikeMaster 55-Gallon Drum Pump. Part #152404.It is a simple hand-operated pump. You stick the tube into the drum. You pump the handle. Oil comes out the spout. Into your quart bottle. Into your gallon jug. Into your measuring cup. No tipping. No spilling. No slipping on a puddle of 20W50.

Why A Drum Pump?

Because you are tired of this: You crack the bung on the drum. You try to pour it into a smaller container. You miss. Oil runs down the side of the drum. Your hands are slippery. The container tips over. Now you have a gallon of oil on the floor. You are out the money and you have to clean it up.A drum pump fixes that. Stick it in. Pump. Done. Clean. Fast.

FAQ

 How does this work?
You screw the pump into the bung hole on top of the drum. The pickup tube goes down to the bottom. You put your container under the spout. You pump the handle. Oil comes out. Stop pumping. Oil stops. Simple.
How much oil comes out per pump?
About 4 to 6 ounces per stroke. Enough to fill a quart bottle in 4 or 5 pumps. A gallon jug in about 20 pumps. Beats tipping a 400-pound drum.
Will this fit my 55-gallon drum?
Most drums use a standard 2-inch threaded bung. Some use a different size. Look at the top of your drum. If the big hole is about 2 inches across with threads, this fits. If it is smaller or larger, it will not.
Can I leave this in the drum full time?
Yes. That is what it is for. Screw it in. Leave it. Pump when you need oil. Just keep the dust cap on the spout so dirt does not get in.
Will this work for 5-gallon buckets?
No. The pickup tube is too long for a 5-gallon bucket. This is for 55-gallon drums only. Buy a separate bucket pump for smaller containers.
Is this made of metal or plastic?
Most of it is heavy-duty plastic and rubber with a metal tube. It is not a $200 industrial steel pump. It is a $70 pump for light to medium shop use. Do not try to pump 90 weight gear oil through it in a freezing cold garage. It will be slow. Warm the oil first.
How do I clean it?
Pump clean oil through it to flush out the old oil. Or take it apart. Or just leave it in the same type of oil. Do not switch from antifreeze to engine oil without cleaning it.
Why do I need this instead of a funnel and a lot of patience?
Because patience runs out. You will spill. You will get oil on your floor. You will waste money. This pump pays for itself after a few drums of saved oil.
Will this fit my 30-gallon drum?
The tube is 55-gallon length. It might be too long for a 30-gallon drum. It will hit the bottom before the bung threads catch. You can cut the tube shorter with a hacksaw. But out of the box, it is made for 55-gallon.
Is this returnable if it does not fit my drum?
Yes, if it is clean and unused. Once you pump oil through it, we cannot take it back. Test fit it into your drum before you pump anything. If it screws in, you are good. If it does not, send it back clean.
