BikeMaster Wheel Balancer – 30cm x 54cm (Part #151965)
Tired Of Paying The Shop To Balance Your Tires?
Look, I get it. Changing your own tires saves money. But then you gotta load up the wheel, drive to the shop, wait around, and hand over $40 for some guy to spin it on a machine. Do that four times a year? You just blew $160 on something you could do in your garage in ten minutes. This is the BikeMaster Wheel Balancer. Part #151965.It is dead simple. You put the wheel on the shaft. You center it with the cones. You let gravity find the heavy spot. You stick a weight on the opposite side. Done. No electricity. No computers. No waiting in line.
What Does 30cm x 54cm Mean?
That is the size of the base. 30cm wide (about 12 inches). 54cm long (about 21 inches). Big enough to be stable. Small enough to sit on your workbench without taking up the whole thing.
Is A Static Balancer Good Enough?
Yes. I have used these for years. A dynamic spinning machine is overkill for motorcycles. Our wheels are narrow. Our tires are light. A static balancer gets you 99% of the way there. You will never feel the difference at highway speeds. But you WILL feel a wheel that is out of balance. That vibration in your handlebars? That bouncing at 70 mph? This fixes it.
What You Get
Precision ground shaft: Runs straight. No wobble. This is the heart of the balancer.
Two centering cones: Fits different wheel bearing sizes. No extra adapters needed.
Leveling feet: Screw them in or out to get the base level. If the base is not level, your balance will be wrong. Simple as that.
Solid steel: Not plastic junk. This thing will outlast your bike.
What Wheels Fit?
Honestly? Almost everything.
Sport bike wheels (17")
Cruiser wheels (16", 17", 18")
Dirt bike wheels (18", 19", 21")
ADV wheels
Front and rear
The only limit is really wide touring bike rear wheels (think 200mm or wider tire). Measure your tire width first if you ride a big bagger. If it fits between the upright posts, you are good.
FAQ
Does it come with wheel weights?
No. Just the balancer. Grab a pack of stick-on weights while you are here. You will need them.
Is this hard to use?
No. Watch one YouTube video. The key is making sure the base is level. Then spin the wheel a few times. Let the heavy spot settle to the bottom. Add weight to the top. Repeat until it stops moving. It takes maybe 10 minutes your first time.
Will this work on my Gold Wing rear wheel?
The wheel will fit on the shaft. The question is the tire width. A stock Gold Wing tire is usually 180mm. That fits. If you put a huge 200mm or 210mm car tire on there (yes, some guys do that), it might hit the uprights. Measure first.
How accurate is this compared to a shop machine?
For a motorcycle? Close enough. A $5,000 dynamic balancer is technically more accurate. But on a 50 pound wheel and tire? You will never feel the difference. Racers might care. You will not.
Can I balance car tires on this?
No. Car wheels are too heavy. Too wide. You will bend the shaft. This is for motorcycles only.
Why do I even need to balance my wheels?
Because a tire that is out of balance will shake your handlebars, wear out your wheel bearings faster, and make long rides miserable. It takes ten minutes to prevent all of that. Just do it.
