Installed the Wilwood 6R front kit on my ’84 G-body and the difference in braking is night and day. I took it out on some canyon roads and the pedal feel is incredibly firm and responsive. No fade, no vibration. The fit was perfect, everything lined up exactly as described. Wilwood’s reputation is well earned. If you’re building a G-body and want brakes that can keep up with your power upgrades, this is the kit.

Put this Wilwood 6R kit on my ’86 Monte Carlo SS and the brake feel went from vague to razor sharp overnight. The narrow design cleared my 15-inch wheels without any spacers, which was my biggest worry going in. Pedal pressure is firm right from the top of the stroke, no sponginess at all. My machine shop double-checked the hub tolerances and said everything was machined perfectly. Stopping distances from highway speed are dramatically shorter now. Easily the best brake upgrade I’ve done on a G-body.
