Cobb WRX/STi Black SF Intake REPLACEMENT FILTER ONLY - NOT A COMPLETE INTAKE (Part #712101)

Your Intake Filter Is Dirty. Time To Swap It.

You bought a Cobb SF intake a while back. Loved it. Still love it. But that filter? It has seen better days. It is grey. It is crusty. Your car feels slow.Time for a new one. This is the Cobb Black SF Intake Replacement Filter. Part #712101.Read that again. This is just the filter. Not the whole intake. You already have the pipe and the heat shield. You just need the filter.

Clean It Or Replace It?

You can clean these. Cobb sells a cleaning kit. Spray it. Rinse it. Oil it. Works fine a few times. But after a while, the filter material breaks down. Holes show up. Dirt gets through. Dirt kills turbochargers.New filter is cheap. New turbo is not.

FAQ

Will this fit my stock WRX airbox?
No. Stock airbox uses a flat panel filter. This is a cone filter for Cobb intakes only.
Is this an oiled filter or dry?
Check your original. Cobb made both kinds. Buy the same type. If you put oil on a dry filter, you will ruin it.
How long does a filter last?
Clean it every 10k to 15k miles. Replace it after 3 or 4 cleanings. Or when you see light through holes.
Will this fit my 2005 Legacy GT?
Yes, if you have the Cobb SF intake on it. Fitment chart says 2005-2009 Legacy GT. You are good.
Is this hard to install?
No. Open the hood. Loosen the clamp. Pull the old filter off. Slide the new one on. Tighten the clamp. Five minutes. Maybe ten if you stop to drink coffee.
