Garrett G-XRace GXR55-88 Super Core (106TW)

If you are putting together a serious drag setup, you know the GXR55-88 is the business. This is a real Garrett Super Core, built to handle massive boost and keep the exhaust flow moving. It’s got that big 106mm turbine wheel (106TW) that lets the motor breathe on the top end without fighting all that backpressure. We’ve got two versions of this core. The only difference is the port size for your pressure sensor on the compressor housing. Check your lines and pick the one that fits.

Part Numbers:

  • 934174-5007S: This one has the 0.25-inch pressure sensor port.
  • 934174-5002S: This one has the smaller 0.18-inch pressure sensor port.

The Good Stuff:

  • The 106mm Wheel: It’s huge. If you’re chasing big power numbers, this is how you get the air in there.
  • Ball Bearings: It uses the standard Garrett dual ball-bearing setup. It’s tough, holds up to high heat, and handles the thrashing that drag racing puts on a turbo.
  • Easy Sensors: The compressor housing comes with the sensor port already drilled. It saves you the headache of messing with a custom machine shop setup.
  • Super Core Setup: You get the CHRA, compressor wheel, and compressor cover all together. It’s ready to drop in if you have your turbine housing ready.

Fitment Info:

This isn't for a daily driver. It’s for custom builds and race cars.
  • Note: This is a Super Core only. You do not get the turbine (exhaust) housing in the box. You’ll need a matching G55 series turbine housing for your manifold. Make sure you have the right one before you try to bolt it up.

Common Shop Questions:

Is the turbine housing in the box?
Nope. A Super Core is just the center section and the compressor side. You have to provide the exhaust housing yourself.
Which part number makes more power?
Neither. They both flow exactly the same. The internal guts (wheels/bearings) are identical. Just buy the one that matches the pressure sensor fitting you're already running in your car.
Is this okay for a street car?
It's overkill, honestly. It’s built for drag strips and track days where you’re running high boost. You can run it on the street, but it’s designed to be pushed hard at high RPMs, not for cruising to the grocery store.
