Most just want something that grips well on a damp morning commute, holds up over a season of regular riding, and doesn't feel vague or wandery through a corner. That's really the whole idea behind the Q5A. Dunlop took what it learned building the Q5 and Q5S and aimed it at everyday street riders instead of trackday regulars, leaning on the groundwork laid by its Roadsport and Q-series lines.The compound is where a lot of the real-world difference shows up. Dunlop worked in Carbon R and Hi Silica X, which sounds like marketing jargon until you're braking hard on a wet road and the tire actually holds. That's the point of both compounds, better grip in the wet without giving up dry performance. On the rear (sold separately), Multi-Tread technology puts a long-wearing compound down the center where most of your mileage happens, with grippier compound on the shoulders for when you actually lean the bike over.There's also JLB technology built into both the front and rear, which is Dunlop's way of managing how the tire behaves at speed keeping it stable, reducing growth as RPMs climb, and generally making the tire feel planted rather than nervous. It's not something you'll consciously notice, but it's a big part of why the ride feels composed instead of twitchy.Dunlop also widened the size range with this generation, which means the Q5A now fits a broader spread of sport bikes, current models and plenty of older ones too, so you're not stuck hunting for a tire in a size nobody stocks anymore.This front tire comes in two sizes: 120/60ZR17 and 120/70ZR17.Features & Benefits:
