I love the 5.0 Coyote. Great motor. Screams at 7000 RPM. But down low? Below 2500 RPM? It is kind of dead. You step on the gas and wait. And wait. Then it wakes up. That lag is annoying. This is the Airaid PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer. Part #450-638.It bolts between your throttle body and intake manifold. Creates a little swirl in the air as it goes in. Better fuel mixing. More complete burn. More torque right off idle. Right where you drive 90% of the time.
Does It Actually Work?
Look, it is not a supercharger. You will not gain 50 HP. But you will feel it. The throttle gets snappier. The truck or Mustang pulls harder from a stop. Passing on the highway? A little less downshifting. For a hundred bucks or whatever these cost? Worth it.
Why Airaid And Not eBay?
Because cheap spacers are made from junk aluminum. They warp. The gaskets leak. You get a vacuum leak and the engine runs like garbage. Airaid machines these from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum on CNC machines. Precision fit. No leaks. No warping. Comes with good gaskets and hardware.
More low end torque: Helps off idle and mid range.
Sharper throttle response: Less lag when you step on it.
Bolt on in an hour: Hand tools. No tune needed.
Includes gaskets and bolts: Everything in the box.
Made in USA: Airaid still builds stuff here.

FAQ
Do I need a tune?
No. Bolt it on. Drive. No check engine light. No problems.
How much power will I gain?
Maybe 5-10 lb-ft of torque down low. 2-5 HP. This is not a dyno queen part. You feel it in your butt, not on a piece of paper.
Is this hard to install?
No. Unbolt the throttle body from the intake. Put the spacer in between. Use the new gaskets and longer bolts. Tighten. Done. Maybe an hour if you are slow.
Will this fit my 2014 F-150?
Early 2014, yes. Late 2014? Ford changed the intake. Look at your throttle body bolt pattern. If it looks like every other Coyote, it fits. If it looks weird, it does not. Buy from somewhere with returns.
Will this fit my 2015 Mustang?
No. Different intake. Different bolt pattern. Will not work.
Will this make a whistling noise?
Some cheap spacers whistle. Airaid designed this one not to. If you hear a whistle, your gasket is not sealed. Fix it.
Can I use this with a cold air intake?
Yes. Cold air intake + throttle body spacer = more air. More air + more fuel = more power. They work together.
Will this help my F-150 tow better?
Yes. More low end torque means less downshifting on hills. The truck just pulls. Your transmission will last longer.
What tools do I need?
Socket set. 10mm and 13mm probably. Screwdriver. That is it.
Is this CARB legal?
Check Airaid's website. Most throttle body spacers are legal because they do not change emissions. But California? Who knows. Check first.
Why this instead of a tuner?
Different parts. Spacer is cheap and easy. No tune required. No warranty worries. Do the spacer now. Get a tuner later when you have more money. They work fine together.
Will this work on a supercharged Coyote?
No. Superchargers replace the intake manifold. This spacer bolts to the factory intake. Will not work.
