FTI 9.5in AODE/4R70/4R75 Billet Single Clutch Lock-Up Street Racer Series - 3200 Stall (Part #SRL70082)

A Torque Converter That Actually Wakes Up Your Ford

You have a Ford with an AODE, 4R70, or 4R75 transmission. You have a cam. You have gears. You have a few bolt-ons. But the truck feels lazy off the line. It does not launch hard. It does not stay in the power band between shifts. This is the FTI Street Racer Series Torque Converter. Part #SRL70082. 9.5-inch billet lock-up converter. 3200 stall . Fits AODE, 4R70W, and 4R75W transmissions with 26-spline input shafts .FTI is a leader in torque converter technology. They are known for high-quality, race-proven converters . This is not a cheap, off-the-shelf unit. It is a purpose-built billet converter. It is strong. It is efficient. It is designed to get your vehicle down the track.

Why 3200 Stall?

The stock converter stalls around 1600-1800 RPM. That is too low for a cammed engine. The motor does not make power until 3000 RPM. The 3200 stall allows the engine to spin up into its power band before the converter locks up . The result is a harder launch, better 60-foot times, and more acceleration.

Billet Lock-Up Design

This converter features a billet cover . It is stronger than stamped steel. It handles more power. It is less likely to balloon under high RPM. The single clutch lock-up design improves fuel efficiency and reduces heat during cruising . You get the best of both worlds. Performance when you need it. Efficiency on the highway.

What You Need To Know

The converter has a 26-spline input . It fits factory and aftermarket transmissions with the same spline count. It is designed for street/strip use . The stall speed is rated at 3200 RPM. It will feel tight on the street and aggressive at the track.

3 reviews for FTI 9.5in Billet Lock-Up Converter 3200 Stall

  1. Michael Yang

Running a built 4L80 behind my LSX and the FTI 9.5-inch billet converter at 3200 stall was the right choice. It launches hard, locks up cleanly at cruise, and the torque multiplication in the lower RPM range is exactly what my cam wants. The billet construction gives me confidence at the power levels I’m making. My transmission builder recommended FTI and I’m glad I listened. No slippage, no excessive heat. Just clean, consistent performance every pass.

  2. Nathaniel Smith

Mounted the Factory Race Series 2.5 reservoir shocks on my prerunner build and they’ve exceeded my expectations in every way. The adjustability lets me tune the ride for street driving versus hammering desert roads. Huge advantage over fixed-rate shocks. Build quality is obvious when you hold them, heavy duty components throughout. After several serious off-road runs with sustained high-speed desert driving, they stayed cool and consistent. Worth the investment if you’re serious about off-road performance.

  3. Thurston Radley

Had this FTI 9.5-inch billet converter built into my transmission for my street/strip build and the stall matched my combination perfectly. Launches are consistent, no flare, and the lock-up function keeps highway cruising RPM low for good fuel economy. My transmission shop commented on how well-balanced the unit felt compared to some other aftermarket converters they’ve installed. 60-foot times improved noticeably at the track. Daily drivability didn’t suffer at all despite the higher stall speed. FTI clearly knows how to build a converter that does both jobs well.
