Product Features That Matter on Real Roads

Stable Highway Performance

Touring bikes are built for distance, and tires must support that purpose. The Dunlop D402 Rear Tire MU85B16 M/C 77H TL uses a tread design that maintains consistent road contact. Riders often notice how calm the bike feels during long highway stretches. You don’t fight the bike. It tracks straight and steady.

Durable Construction for Heavy Motorcycles

Large touring motorcycles place a significant load on rear tires. The bias-ply construction of the D402 helps distribute that weight while maintaining structural strength.Over time, that durability becomes noticeable. Riders report slower wear compared with many standard cruiser tires.

Predictable Cornering Feel

On winding roads, confidence matters. The tread pattern and sidewall structure help keep the tire stable when leaning into gradual turns. That predictable response allows riders to focus on the road ahead rather than worrying about traction.

Designed for Touring Comfort

Long rides are about more than speed. Comfort matters too. A well-built tire absorbs road imperfections and helps maintain a smoother ride over rough pavement.Even after hours in the saddle, the bike feels composed rather than unsettled.

Fitment Clarity

The Dunlop D402 Rear Tire MU85B16 M/C 77H TL fits motorcycles that require a MU85B16 rear tire size on a 16-inch wheel. This size is commonly used on heavyweight touring motorcycles and cruisers. Many riders choose it as a direct replacement for worn rear tires on bikes designed for that specification. Before purchasing, always verify:

Your current rear tire size
Motorcycle manufacturer recommendations
Load and speed ratings

The correct tire size ensures safe handling and proper performance.

Installation Insight

Installing a motorcycle tire is more than simply mounting rubber on a wheel. Proper installation protects both the tire and the rider.Professional installation is recommended, but riders should still understand the basics:

Inspect the wheel and rim condition before mounting
Replace the valve stem if necessary
Balance the wheel after installation
Check tire pressure after the first ride

New tires also benefit from a short break-in period. During the first rides, moderate speeds and gentle cornering help the tread surface settle.

Who This Tire Is For

The Dunlop D402 Rear Tire MU85B16 M/C 77H TL is designed for riders who value reliability on long rides. This tire works best for:

Touring motorcycle owners
Riders who travel long highway distances
Cruiser riders carrying luggage or passengers
Motorcyclists who want stable, predictable rear tire performance

It’s especially suited for riders who treat their motorcycle as more than a weekend machine. When your bike is part of road trips, daily riding, and long-distance travel, tire reliability becomes essential.
