The Q5S doesn't really ask you to pick — it's Dunlop's fifth-generation attempt at giving riders both, and it pulls a lot of its DNA straight from the tires Dunlop builds for MotoAmerica Road Race teams out of Buffalo, NY.The biggest change you'll actually feel is how it turns in. Dunlop shaved 7mm off the front tire's construction and reworked the profile with tapered sides, so instead of the tire fighting you into a corner, it just... goes. Riders coming off older Q-series tires or the Q3+ tend to notice this first — the front end feels lighter and more willing to lean, especially once the tire's up to temperature, which doesn't take long either. The tread pattern's built to get heat into the rubber fast, whether that's your first lap out of pit lane or a cold Tuesday morning commute.Underneath the tread, Dunlop's using its MT Multi-Tread setup — a long-wearing, silica-infused compound down the center where you spend most of your miles, with softer, grippier rubber out on the shoulders where you actually need it, mid-corner. It's a fairly simple idea, but it's the reason this tire can hold a line at lean without wearing out early on the highway.Two sizes are available depending on your bike's front wheel: 110/70ZR17 and 120/70ZR17.
