Will this make my truck sound like a ricer?
It adds a distinct whoosh when you let off the gas. It’s not obnoxious like an open-atmosphere valve on a Japanese car. It’s more of a “whoosh-psshh” that EcoBoost guys actually want. If you hate noise, get the “Plumb Back” version. This is the Dual Port, so you will hear it.Do I need a tune to run this blow-off valve?
No. Because it recirculates 50% of the air, the factory ECU never sees a problem. You can bolt this on a bone-stock truck. That said, if you are tuned (MPT, 5-Star, etc.), this valve holds a much better boost than stock, so you will actually make the power the tuner promised.I have a 2013 F-150. Will this work?
Not directly. Ford moved the BOV location and changed the flange in 2013. You need the Turbosmart “Kompact EM” series or an adapter flange. This Shortie is specifically for the early 2011-12 trucks and the Focus ST.What is the difference between this and the $40 eBay valves?
